Model 02 Sofa Bed FAQs

What is the difference between Model 02, 04, and 08 sofa beds?

Aside from design and style, the main differences between the Models are the mechanism and sleeping arrangement:

  • Model 02 and Model 04: Both Models have a similar mechanism: The backrest folds forward, and the base is pulled outward to create a double bed. The sleeping orientation is across the width of the sofa.
  • Model 08 features a different mechanism with three sections. The backrest folds backward, and the base extends forward, allowing for a lengthwise sleeping orientation. 

Models 02 & 04 have pocket-sprung mattresses, whereas Model 08 has a thick foam mattress.

Is the Model 02 sofa bed classed as in mid-century?

Yes, the Model 02 sofa bed’s pulled seam and piped detailing, and raised plinth, are timeless designs that are classed as mid-century or retro-inspired. 

Are sofa beds comfortable for sleeping on daily?
