From round to rectangular coffee tables, coffee tables with shelves, and others with storage and drawers. Our collection of mid-century coffee tables promises to meet the demands and interior style of your home.

Coffee Tables with Drawers

A coffee table with drawers is a clever use of space and storage. It helps hide items that don’t need to be on display all of the time and takes centre stage in your living room. Whether it's a one-drawer or two-drawer, Swyft has a design for your space.

Rectangular or Round Coffee Tables

When choosing the shape of a coffee table you should first consider the layout and size of your living room. A round coffee table is usually better for smaller spaces due to its rounded, soft edges. It invites socialising and encourages smooth flow throughout the room. A rectangular coffee table is commonly used in larger areas, creating balance and symmetry between space and the sofas.

Coffee Table FAQs

Below you find some of our most commonly asked coffee table questions.

Should every living room have a coffee table?

The short answer is - no. It depends on the size of your space and how you want to use it. A coffee table is great for aesthetics, and functionality - storage, drinks, and food. But if you don’t have the space then it will become unpractical - alternatively, a side table might be a better option.

Should the coffee table be higher or lower than the sofa?

Your coffee table should sit at the same height as the sofa, or slightly lower (highly recommend avoiding a coffee table that is higher than your sofa. That would look and feel odd).

Does a coffee table make a room look bigger?

This really depends on the size of your space. A coffee table can make a room feel more balanced, but its size has to reflect the space that it’s in. A round coffee table will look great in a smaller room because of its rounded edges, helping the flow of the space – if it’s a glass-top round coffee table it will create the illusion of more space, but not necessarily make a room feel bigger. To help small spaces, choose minimalist, slim coffee table designs.

Can a coffee table be too big?

Yes, a coffee table can be too big. A coffee table that is too big can disrupt the balance of a room, overwhelm existing living room furniture items, and make it difficult for traffic to get around the room.
